Kyo Kara Maoh! Is 117 episodes and 5 OVAs long there are also 12 Manga volumes and 22 volumes in the light novel. Kyo Kara Moah! The Main character of Kyo Kara Maoh! Is a high school student called Yuri Shibuya who was born in Boston USA though he was brought up in Saitama Japan. Yuri means Profitable which often leads to people calling him Harajuka Furi meaning roughly that he is unprofitable.
Yuri when trying to defend a class mate Murata Ken gets dragged to the toilets where the bullies flush his head down the toilets ends up in The Great Demon Kingdom (Shin Makoku) where he finds out he is the 27th King of the demons (Maoh!). His goal is to create a world where humans and demons can live together in peace.
When Yuri first arrives in Shin Makoku he meets Adalbert Von Grantz who is a former Mazoku later in the anime he says that he abandoned Shin Makoku because his fiancée Susannah Julia Von Wincott died saying it was their fault for her death. She was highly skilled in medical magic, during the war she wanted to save as many people as possible over using her magic which resulted in her death.
He has many allies and friends, his closest allies are Wolfram Von Bielefeld, Conrad Weller, Gunter Von Christ, Gwendal Von Voltaire, Murata Ken and Yozak Gurrier. Yuri ends up engaged to Wolfram when he slaps Wolfram’s left cheek because Wolfram insulted his mother which for nobles in Shin Makoku signifies asking for his or her hand in marriage. Then Yuri picks up the knife that Wolfram knocks on the floor after challenging him to a duel which signifies accepting the duel.
During the duel Wolfram uses fire magic after Yuri ‘bats’ his sword from his hand which Yuri manages to dodge but by doing so it hits a servant which makes Yuri angry in turn brining out the spirit of the Maoh.
Adalbert Von Grantz tries to kill Yuri throughout the series till Conrad tells him that Yuri is the reincarnation of Susannah Julia Von Wincott thus making him unable to harm him, he even goes as far as to protect him.
